The Sports Complex and the Golf Course are the two facilities the District maintains. From team sports to individual activities, the District strives to provide a wide variety of options for the citizens of Jackson Parish.

Jackson Parish Council on Aging
The Jackson Council on the Aging is a non-profit organization designed to meet the needs of the elderly of Jackson Parish. It is our goal to assist them in retaining the level of independence they desire and implementing programs to address their needs.
The Jackson Parish Council on the Aging became a chartered organization in 1969. It operates under a volunteer board of directors and at present has thirteen employees providing services throughout the parish. Funds are received from state and federal grants to provide a variety of services to those 60 years of age or older.
Senior Adults need to form meaningful relationships, to develop social belongingness and to experience a positive self-worth. The Senior Center provides a central location where basic community resources are available. The Senior Center in Jonesboro is open five days a week.

Located on a peninsula on Caney Lake, Jimmie Davis State Park offers two boat launches and a fishing pier that cater to the outdoors enthusiast looking for a prime freshwater fishing spot. Waterskiing is another way to enjoy the clear waters of the lake, which was created by damming Caney Creek in 1986. Don't forget to look back at the lakeshore to appreciate the beautiful mixed pine and hardwood forest surrounding the lake and the birds and animals that make the forest their home.

Community Center
The Dr. Charles H. Garrett Community Center is a large meeting facility available to the public for rent. Different events include, but are not limited to, meetings, training sessions, dinners, receptions, and other special events.

The original contract along with all fees and security deposits must be returned and paid before your requested date can be reserved on our calendar.
The following fees apply:
- Rental: $300.00
- Setup: $65.00
- Security Deposit: $300.00 (refundable)
- Alcohol Surcharge: $200.00 (if applicable)
Our Maintenance Staff will clean the facilities before and after each use and a member of their team will be available during your event.
We have limited equipment available for you to use at no additional charge:
