As we approach the festive season and upcoming events that promise to bring joy and holiday spirit to our community - the Christmas Wonderland in the Pines celebration.
On November 30th, starting at 9 AM in the morning, our community will gather at Jonesboro Town Hall to honor our Grand Marshall. The Grand Marshall Coffee is a chance to meet the Grand Marshall and family in celebration of their honor.
Here's a glimpse of what we have planned:
1. 5-K runsthrough downtown Jonesboro-$25 Registration -7AM-Court St. -Doesn’t include tee-shirt.
2. Vendors: Local artisans and businesses will set up stalls, offering unique holiday gifts and treats for all attendees.at 10 AM.
3. Parade: November 30th, 4:30 PM, a dazzling parade will make its way through our town, featuring beautifully decorated floats and spreading holiday cheer.
4. Fireworks: To cap off the day with a bang, a spectacular fireworks display is scheduled, bringing the sky alive with vibrant colors and awe-inspiring lights. This display is estimated to cost around $5,500.
5. Carriage Rides: Beginning on November 30th and running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night through December 22nd,
6. Santa Claus: Of course, no Christmas event would be complete without Santa Claus! Santa will be present, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night 5-9PM in the Christmas Park to listen to children's wishes and spread holiday joy.
7. Music in the Pocket Park: 1PM-4PM day of Parade
8. Children’s Choirs in Veterans Park: 11AM-1PM day of Parade
9. Christmas Tree Decorating Contest: On display in the Pocket Park starting day of parade.
However, to make this event as memorable and festive as we envision, we are seeking your support. Your generous donation will play a crucial role in covering the costs associated with the fireworks display and other event logistics. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will help us bring this magical celebration to life and create cherished memories for our community.

Jackson Parish Council on Aging
The Jackson Council on the Aging is a non-profit organization designed to meet the needs of the elderly of Jackson Parish. It is our goal to assist them in retaining the level of independence they desire, and implementing programs to address their needs.
The Jackson Parish Council on the Aging became a chartered organization in 1969. It operates under a volunteer board of directors and at present has thirteen employees providing services throughout the parish. Funds are received from state and federal grants to provide a variety of services to those 60 years of age or older.
Senior Adults need to form meaningful relationships, to develop social belongingness and to experience a positive self-worth. The Senior Center provides a central location where basic community resources are available. The Senior Center in Jonesboro is open five days a week.

Located on a peninsula on Caney Lake, Jimmie Davis State Park offers two boat launches and a fishing pier that cater to the outdoors enthusiast looking for a prime freshwater fishing spot. Waterskiing is another way to enjoy the clear waters of the lake, which was created by damming Caney Creek in 1986. Don't forget to look back at the lakeshore to appreciate the beautiful mixed pine and hardwood forest surrounding the lake and the birds and animals that make the forest their home.

Community Center
The Dr. Charles H. Garrett Community Center is a large meeting facility available to the public for rent. Different events include, but are not limited to, meetings, training sessions, dinners, receptions, and other special events.

Our Maintenance Staff will clean the facilities before and after each use and a member of their team will be available during your event.
